EUROCONTROL winter feature – the digital SNOWTAM trial

Winter is coming…
After the earlier digital NOTAM trials organized by EUROCONTROL and the FAA, it is now time for trials with the digital SNOWTAM. The trials will run until March 2010 with the participation of several airports, airlines, NOTAM offices and the European AIS Data Base (EAD).
The aim is to develop a pre-operational application that demonstrates the benefits of digital SNOWTAM to the various end-users. A graphical view of airport surfaces will be provided, showing contaminant status and friction coefficient information for European airports. The information will be made available via Web Services using the AIXM 5.1 Surface Contamination model.
